Upon reading Donald Trump's Twitter updates regarding Obama, I just couldn't help but laugh. I thought the citizens of United States took U.S. Government in high school. I know I did. I'm not saying that Obama is the best president but he is definitely not the cause of this tragic state that America is in.

I personally do not believe that the United States' downfall was caused by Obama. When Bush was still president of the US, the country was already in danger financially. Everyone knew that the cause of our humongous national debt was because of the war that Bush declared with Afghanistan after the attack of September 11. Bush might have "achieved" good things, except the war, but that is because he used up every penny that the Americans had. Can you imagine how many millions of dollars that was? Trillions? After using up every penny we had, our national debt started going up.

Also, I'm sure every citizen in the US was aware that when Obama sworn in as president, the United States was already going through an economic tragedy. Bush left the office with piled problems on the desk. Didn't everyone listen to the news when Bush was still president?

"Our national debt has grown by 30% and a gallon of gas has doubled so far under @BarackObama. He is a disaster," Donald Trump stated on his Twitter account. Is this man serious? Does he know why gas prices has gone up? Because of the war. Does he think that the national debt will miraculously disappear under the Obama administration? Our current national debt is 14+ trillion dollars. It has been growing 4 billion per day since September 28, 2007. Who was the United States' president in the year 2007? Oh, right! Bush. Also, is he aware that it is impossible to try not to owe 4 billion dollars a day in such a big country like the United States?

Furthermore, are we really supporting Donald Trump now? Really? What has this country come to. To all those people supporting business men like Donald Trump, wake up! If we let businesses own America, what will happen to the people? Look at what happened after Bush advised Americans to buy houses. Americans couldn't pay all the houses that they were buying, banks gained money, and the United States' economy fell. Only businesses become rich in America if we let businesses run this country.

I don't understand why people blame Obama for this downfall. I try to figure out why citizens blame him but I can't come up with one bit of answer. As I learned in my U.S. Government class, the President does not have all the power to control the whole country. There's this thing called Checks and Balances. If you don't know what that is, google it. I don't have time to explain.

I'm not at all smart when it comes to politics, but I am very aware of what is going on.

I wish I can speak like Mrs. Slaten (high school history teacher) and Mr. Anderson (historian).
